Spokane is a city located in Washington States. Canadian David Thompson first explored Spokane and began the European settlements there in 1810. The Spokane area is one of the most productive mining districts in North America and Spokane’s economy has traditionally been based on natural resources. Recently, however, the economy has started to diversify and to include high-tech, biotech and other sectors.
