Maryland

Maryland sits in America’s Mid-Atlantic region and borders Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia to its south and west; to the north, Pennsylvania and the east, Delaware.   In terms of its actual land area, Maryland is sometimes compared to Belgium, Europe. Maryland is a great place to live for high quality of life and high economic standards.  For example,  just a couple of years ago, it came first (for the third consecutive year) as the state in America with the highest median income.  It has been given three nicknames:  Free State, Chesapeake Bay State and Old Line State.  As well, the state of Maryland is known as a center for life sciences research and development, housing over 350 biotech companies
