Salt Lake City

Founded in 1847 by a group of Mormon pioneers, Salt Lake City, aka Salt Lake/SLC, has a population of approximately 183,171.  HQ of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is in Utah.  The city has grown tremendously in its economy, especially since the first transcontinental railroad was built.  As well, it is a popular haven among tourists (which also brings in money) and is also America’s industrial banking center.
