Minnesota is the 12th largest state in the United States, located in the Midwestern United States.  It has 5.27 million residents and is known as the “Land of 10,000 Lakes.”  The name of the state originates from a Dakota word for “sky-tinted water” and describes a state that is full of waters, forests, parks and wilderness areas.

Sixty percent of Minnesota’s residents live in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area known as the Twin Cities.  The next largest area after this metropolitan area is Rochester. Learn more:
