Texas

Texas is America’s second largest state, comprising 268,820 square miles and a populace of 24.7 million.  In Caddo, Texas means “allies/friends.”  It is made up of various different types of landscapes, with around 10% of the land being desert, and other areas being piney woods, forests, grasslands, swamps, rugged hills.  A famous term relating to the state is the “six flags over Texas,” which originated from the nations that ruled over the land.  It was Spain that first laid claims, followed by France, Mexico, etc.  It was also a slave state in its history.  Today, popular industry in Texas includes: aerospace, agriculture, biomedical sciences, computers, electronics, energy and petrochemicals.
