Hawaii

Hawaii is unique among the fifty states as it is entirely comprised of islands. Hawaii was the last of the fifty states to be admitted into the union of the United States, on August 21st, 1959. It is found in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, southwest of the continental United States and southeast of Japan. Hawaii is famous for its tropical climate, beautiful beaches, surfing, volcanoes and exotic, Polynesian culture. Honolulu is the capital city, located on the big island of O’ahu. Pearl Harbor is also on the big island, the site of the infamous destruction of the U.S. Navy fleet by Japan which propelled the United States into World War II.
