Lexington-Fayette

The Lexington-Fayette, KY Metropolitan Statistical Area is the 106th largest Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) in America. When it was first founded it was only Fayette County.  But in 1980 that changed due to population density increases and thus was officially born Lexington-Fayette.  In 2005, the official census estimated the population at 635,642.  It is nicknamed the “Horse Capital of the World” and the “Thoroughbred City.”  It is a great place for raising children and has 10th highest college educated graduates in the country with nearly 40% holding a BA.
