Wichita

Wichita is one of America’s principal aircraft-manufacturing centers, being the first in production of private aircraft. Around ten years ago, its population count was 344,284. It can be found on the Arkansas River, south central Kansas. In 1870 it was incorporated, with businessmen hunting and trading there. It also became a place for cattle drivers who were traveling north to access railroads to eastern markets due to its location on the Chisholm Trail. Modern day Wichita is known for its rich entertainment and cultural life and is home to many museums, clubs, shopping centers, restaurants etc. The most recent addition to this was the construction in 2010 of Intrust Bank Arena which comprises various suites, loge boxes and 300 premium seats, holding a potential capacity of more than 15,000. As well, Wichita is home to many universities, including Wichita State University that has 15,000 students enrolled. It was recently deemed no. 1 on a list of America’s most affordable cities as well as being named the most “uniquely American” city by Newsmax Magazine.
