Reno

Situated in a high desert valley at the foot of the great Sierra Nevada mountain range, Reno is sometimes known as ‘The Biggest Little City in the World.” Reno is renowned for being the birthplace of Harrah’s Entertainment and a bastion of gambling. The population of about 220,000 live in close proximity to three major bodies of water; Lake Tahoe, the Truckee River and Pyramid Lake, which are major sources of recreation and tourism revenue. The winter Olympics was held in the region in 1960, and the Reno-Tahoe Winter Games Coalition is planning on making a bid to hold the winter Olympics here again in 2022.
